Tree planting and Seedball throwing

Project Details

Our team journeyed across Wajir Air Base Camp and Shaletey Secondary School in Wajir County, where we planted 700+ seedlings and threw over 3,500 Acacia seedballs around the school's land, reviving drylands and inspiring environmental action at the grassroots. Leading the mission was Farah Ali Farah, Executive Director of Green Globe Realisation, who coordinated the activities from start to finish. We were honored to have Abdishakur Abdisalan Sheikh, County Director of Environment from NEMA Wajir, alongside Dr. Ahmed Abdikadir Abdi, Director of Environment and Climate Change, who both lent their leadership and support. In addition, this impactful initiative wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of: Nema Kenya - Wajir, Kenya Forest Service, Kenya Defence Forces - Kenya Army & Kenya Air Force, Kenya Red Cross Society, Madina Football Club, local business people, and the passionate youth of Wajir.
